Chateau de Balleroy The Chateau du Balleroy is located in Normandy near Caen and Bayeux, built in 1631 by the famous architect Francois Mansart, the chateau was the property of the Balleroy family until its acquisition in 1970 by Malcolm S. Forbes. Entering the forecourt through the main gate, one crosses a garden with boxwood parterres, executed in 1894 by Louis Dechene after designs by Andre Le Notre. Chateau de Caradeuc The park of Caradeuc, one of the largest in Brittany, surrounds the chateau which belonged to Lois-Rene Caradeus de la Chalotaise (1701-1785). It is situated on the wooded hillsides of Becherel. Long grassy views and statues representing figures of mythology as well as those of recent history enliven numerous arboured paths. From the terrace the view extends all the way to the hills of Dinan. Chateau de Martinvast Both the Castle and Park are both registered as Historic Monuments. Dating from the 11th Century the English style park is composed of lawns, woods, ponds, waterfalls and many other features. Chateau de Beauregard Chateau Bequregard was already famous back in the 16th century, the Garden of Portraits created by landscape architect Gilles Clement includes 400 species of perennials and roses and 100 climbing plants. The Chapel and its garden of heath plants includes azaleas, rhododendrons and camellias.
